Up North
Lake Michigan air, Petoskey shops, Harbor Springs drives, Traverse City access, Pond Hill Farms, trails, coffee, winter quiet, and room for Conman.
Chicago to Northern Michigan
Justin and Kourtney made the rooftop-townhouse chapter work. Now the family is bigger, Conman changes the pace, and Up North offers the better version: less bustle, more room, lake air, farm days, coffee, shops, and a year-round Petoskey rhythm that already feels like home.
Northern Michigan Base Camp
Chicago gave Justin and Kourtney energy and access. Northern Michigan gives the family room to breathe: Petoskey mornings, Traverse City weekends, Pond Hill Farms, coffee, shops, lake air, trails, winter calm, and a better daily rhythm for Conman.
The pitch
The rooftop townhouse was perfect before the household got bigger. Now the better move is less elevator, less siren, less congestion, and more space for a kid to grow into a real four-season childhood.
Lake Michigan air, Petoskey shops, Harbor Springs drives, Traverse City access, Pond Hill Farms, trails, coffee, winter quiet, and room for Conman.
The city stays useful for work, friends, food, and flights. It just does not need to be the daily operating system for the family.
Up North life
Northern Michigan is not only a summer escape. For Justin, Kourtney, and Conman it can be a four-season operating base: lake mornings, coffee runs, farm days, shops, trails, snow, and quieter nights.
Petoskey and Traverse City coffee stops become the weekly rhythm: stroller walks, slow mornings, and a better start than another crowded Chicago lobby.
Farm markets, Pond Hill, lake-town restaurants, wineries, cider, bakeries, and simple family meals that feel like the point instead of the plan.
Conman gets farms, beaches, trails, playgrounds, ski hills, boat days, pumpkin patches, snow days, and grandparents/friends passing through.
Little Traverse Bay, Bear River trails, Sleeping Bear day trips, Harbor Springs drives, bike paths, beaches, woods, and winter air.
Downtown Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Traverse City give Kourtney boutiques, coffee, books, home goods, and walkable errands without city friction.
Summer lake days, fall farms, winter skiing and fires, spring trail resets. The place works beyond July if the family lets it.
Petoskey stones, beaches, Pond Hill, Traverse City days, Harbor Springs dinners, ski weekends, farmers markets, coffee shops, and lake drives.
Coffee, Conman awake early, and a Northern Michigan pace that feels human before work starts.
More house, more yard, more quiet, and fewer daily tradeoffs than squeezing family life into the rooftop chapter.

Up North loop
Chicago remains useful, but Petoskey, Traverse City, Pond Hill, Harbor Springs, Little Traverse Bay, and the US-31 / US-131 Up North corridor are the places the family already chooses when it wants life to feel better. US-23 stays in the story as the longer Lake Huron-side scenic run.
